The first thing that the audience sees is which companies helped to make the film, so that the companies will get recognition and increase the public's knowledge about their company bringing long term benefits, because people will go see films that they will make in the future. The establishing shot is a tracking shot of a lone plane flying over ice and water showing that whoever is in the helicopter is important to the film. Then there is a long fade to a point of view shot from the aircraft, showing this areas importance and relating this film to the last resident evil film where they were heading to Alaska, revealing some of the story to the audience who follow resident evil. Then there is another fade into a burning city, this adds mystery to the film posing the question to the audience, why the city burning? Which will engage the audience and keep them interested. The plane comes in from out of shot and flies toward the city, showing that the city must have importance in the film also. The plane flying over the hollywood sign, shows the audience where things are taking place. The jump zoom is used to show the speed the aircraft is travelling, that the camera could not keep up by tracking it. Then there is a very long fade, with a voice over explaining how the situation has changed since the last movie. Then the music suddenly becomes more upbeat and the next shot is of the plane again, the screen time that has been given to the plane so far in the trailer shows how significant the person is or how significant that the plane is to the person. Then there is a close up shot of a face, they have shown this person first because she is the most important person in the film. The mise-en-scene, swords is used to attract the target audience, who will go to see this film because they want to see zombies getting killed and/or blown up in as many ways as possible. The music then becomes more upbeat again as we see a shot of the titles, showing that the film has been filmed with the same technology as the most grossing film of all time Avatar, this is done to attract an audience and really wow the viewers. Now the trailer just becomes shot after shot of guns blazing, sword chopping violence that the target audience wants to see, with some momentary points to hit home the fact that this film has the best equipment and to tell you the release date of the film. It also shows you some of the key characters in the film with close up shots. Then it gives you the name of the film and 'coming soon' to keep the audience interested and keep them enthused about the film so they want to go see it. It gives you some important names linked with the creation of the film. Finally it shows you where you can link yourself with the film on the popular networking site facebook, so that they van bombard you with info about the film and so you can keep up to date with the latest developments and news about the film.
