The first thing we see in this teaser trailer is the company who have produced, distributed or had anything to do with the film his is done to clearly show the audience who has made the film and as such can generate publicity for their other movies. The shot of the sunset with the man and the writing, could be describing a country in decline using the sunset as a metaphor for a country fading into darkness. The next shot is of the american choppers against the sunrise, used to represent the very americanised view, that america can go anywhere and solve everything. The use of the clouds to act as a fade shows how the situation ahead is unclear. The next shot of the american soldier, along with the diagetic sound and jump cut, shows how alone these people are to create sympathy and add to the realism of the trailer. The next shot of the humvees driving down the road blazing their guns brings back the classic war film mood, this helps to attract the target audience. The shot of the soldiers getting off the helicopter also helps to attract the target audience. For the next series of shots there are more shorter shots used to increase the pace and lots of guns and action is shown to develop the theme of war and this helps to attract the target audience. The use of the voice and the words he uses helps to portray that these men start out as being alone in a distant land but as this trailer progresses they have to become unified to save themselves. This trailer has no voice over and instead uses text during the fades which in some ways makes the message that this trailer is sending more powerful. The text also helps to describe the film without the use of the voiceover which would spoil the mood that is trying to be set in the trailer. The trailer is very selective with the diagetic sound, not everything that you would hear is put in the soundtrack, this makes the scenes more powerful in portraying their message by allowing the audience to focus on particular aspects within the shots. The shots you see rarely veer away from the aspect of war, helping to balance with the soundtrack, which does veer away from war, but what they both have in common is that the both relate to death, which is really the message that they wanted to put across in this film that these people put their lives on the line for their country and no-one remembers it, this is also displayed very clearly in the text on the screen. The use of the tile of the film and then the words 'leave no man behind' really defines the message of the film this is done to put across a message and can attract the target audience using this classic war/army quote. The trailer shows the face of the main actors in the film, this takes advantage of that actors star appeal, increasing the number of people who will want to see the film. The trailer ends with 'coming soon' rather than a date, this is done to keep the audience on the lookout for the movie and keep them interested in the movie.
