Comedian Poster

The Main image shows Jerry Seinfeld, with a microphone, this is juxtaposed against the background of an empty street, this creates the effect that he is a stand up comic who has lost his way and is alone, this is also reinforced by the expression on his faced, which looks puzzled and confused. The dark and faded colours create the effect that things are dark and dreary. The use of a high angle shot in this image creates the effect that this person is insignificant to the world around him, this effect is reinforced by the way that this person has been made to look much smaller than his surroundings. In the poster this person is the only part of the image that is in focus, showing the audience that he is more important to the film and he plays a significant role whereas his surroundings do not.
In this poster the title has not been placed at the top of the page, instead the words Jerry Seinfeld have been placed their, this is done to attract the films target audience, a persons natural reaction is to start at the top of the page, so when someone looks at this poster they will see the words Jerry Seinfeld and because the target audience for this film will be people who like comedy, they will know who he is and will then want to go and see the film. The text almost describes the film whilst at the same time telling the audience the title, by doing this it makes sure that all the writing that has been put in this one position does not become cluttered allowing the poster to have some flow and sense to it. The title is in the biggest text to make it clear to the audience that this is the films title.
